Join Kingston Active's Waves Leisure Centre in Highett to deliver Learn to Swim and other aquatic programs, with opportunities to work across School Swimming, school holiday activities, and additional aquatic programs. Multiple casual roles are available with flexible hours, including weekday afternoons and weekends. Pay is $39.62 per hour (including 25% casual loading) plus superannuation.

Join our team as a Learn to Swim Instructor

Waves Leisure Centre offers Learn to Swim programming for approximately 2,500 students per term. You will work with a team of aquatic educators and have the ability to work across multiple programs (including school swimming, swim intensive programs and inflatable sessions).

What you’ll deliver

- Plan and conduct Learn to Swim classes for a range of age groups and abilities.
- Assess students against the Swim and Survive curriculum criteria.
- Monitor students’ progress and adapt teaching to support progression.
- Deliver excellent customer service to swim school students and their parents.
- Provide regular feedback to students and their parents attending the Learn to Swim program.

Your Skills and Experience

- An engaging personality that connects well with children and has a passion for teaching children swimming and water safety skills.
- A current Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety certificate.
- The Teacher of Infant and Pre-school Aquatics certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Current CPR qualification.
- Employee Working with Children’s Check.
- Experience in planning and preparing swim lessons, and basic administration skills.
- Experience in teaching children from various age groups and swimming abilities.
