An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Graduate (or recently graduated) to join SLR’s Environmental Management, Permitting and Compliance team in Melbourne. The role will provide you with technical development day to day, while also providing the opportunity to be part of a structured learning program. It is intended that the graduate roles would commence in early 2025 as part of SLR’s industry leading graduate program upon completion of your university studies.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will ideally be graduate level or have up to 2 years of experience, and be self-motivated, articulate, and reliable. This role will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside industry leaders across the region and support your technical growth within the wider SLR team.
As part of a growing team in SLR, you will be responsible for carrying out services that include assisting with preparing tenders and proposals, providing advice to clients and colleagues, and working in an office-based environment, with the opportunity for some field-based activities. You will be supported by senior consultants to develop detailed knowledge and understanding of geotechnical methods and techniques to solve complex problems.

- Construction and Operational Management
- Commercial, Industrial and Infrastructure Construction approvals and compliance
- Audit and Compliance
- Commercial, Industrial and Infrastructure permit and regulatory compliance
- Mining authorisations and compliance
- Development and Operational approvals and compliance
- Management Plans / Systems
- Infrastructure, Commercial, Industrial & Mining
- Licensing
- Environmental compliance and approvals
- Renewables
- Wind, Solar and Hydrogen projects.

Experience
Our ideal candidates will have:
- A professional qualification in Environmental Science, Planning or other relevant degrees
- Previous experience working in an Environmental or Planning role (e.g., obtained as part of your degree, work experience or your current role)
- Working knowledge of Victorian & Commonwealth environmental legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines
- Strong communication and collaborative skills, and fluency in written and spoken English
- Demonstrated initiative and capability to work independently as well as working well within a team environment
- Australia Citizenship or rights to work in Australia
