Total Remuneration Package: up to $156,253.00. Base salary ranges from $90,177.00 to $137,861.00, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience.

Position Information
Toronto High School’s vision is to be a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment where respect, innovation, and learning empower every student to achieve excellence, embrace diversity, and contribute positively to their world. The school is a coeducational, comprehensive high school serving the local Toronto community on Awabakal country, approximately 40 minutes from Newcastle. Toronto High School has a student enrolment of approximately 1000 students including 60 students in support unit classes and 170 Aboriginal students. The school has a wide range of curricula, ranging from the Learning Enrichment Accelerated Pathway program (LEAP) through to individual tuition all incorporating a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy. There is a strong emphasis on staff professional development and quality practices. Toronto High School is committed to building positive relationships between students, staff and the broader community. The ethos of the school is based on ‘Respect’.
Specific Selection Criteria
1. Approval to teach careers or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in careers qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education. Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum requirements, post-school pathways, and current local and national labour market trends to support informed decision-making for all students.
2. Capacity to lead, design and implement a whole-school career education and transition program that aligns with school strategic priorities and Departmental policies. Ability to coordinate work experience, TAFE-delivered Vocational Education and Training (TVET), SBAT and tertiary pathways in collaboration with executive staff and external partners.
3. Capacity in developing personalised transition and career plans that meet the diverse needs of students, including Aboriginal students, students with disability, EAL/D learners, high potential and gifted education (HPGE) students, and those from low-SES backgrounds, to build student confidence, aspiration and engagement.
4. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, families and community partners. Capacity to build sustainable links with industry, training providers and tertiary institutions to expand authentic learning and employment opportunities for students.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

If applicable, engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Careers qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education which must be completed within 12 months.
