Position Details:

- Ongoing, part-time 0.6 EFT
- Qualifications required: Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Registered Nurse, Speech Pathologist, Psychologist with a tertiary family therapy qualification recognized by AAFT

We are seeking a part-time Senior Family Therapist / Family Therapist to join RCH Mental Health Mid West Community team located in St Albans.

The Role:

The Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System recommended family therapy be offered in a greatly expanded capacity in a tertiary or Level 5 Infant, Child and Family Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Services. The successful applicant will play a key role in fulfilling this recommendation.

We have an ongoing part-time 0.6 EFT position for a dedicated Senior Family Therapist/Family Therapist in our Mid West community team based in St Albans. The core function of this role is to provide family therapy to infants, children, and young people and their families receiving treatment, care, and support. The Senior Family Therapist/Family Therapist will be a highly valued team member, working closely with the Team Coordinator and Discipline Senior. Staff well-being initiatives, learning, and development opportunities will be available. While primarily based in the listed location, you may be required to work across sites as needed.

To be successful in this role:

Family Therapist:

- Demonstrated clinical skills and experience in family therapy for infants, children, and young people
- Ability to practice autonomously and within an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and professional development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

Senior Family Therapist:

- Extensive clinical experience in family therapy for infants, children, and young people
- Ability to practice autonomously and within an interdisciplinary team
- Experience in supervision of clinicians and students
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and community agencies
- Interest or experience in quality improvement and program evaluation
