Key accountabilities include:

- Oversee development of the risk-based MPM workbank and Stage Gate 1 project briefs.
- Ensure planning aligns with ISO55001 and supports long-term network strategy.

- Lead strategic occupation planning in collaboration with Infrastructure, Asset Assurance and Disruption Management Divisions.
- Ensure MPM nominations are received and validated in line with V/Line’s planning framework.
- Support development of asset management plans, asset class strategies and corridor strategies.
- Contribute to strategic capital business cases and budget submissions.
- Facilitate planning workshops and provide technical input across the AWP function.
- Identify opportunities for early works and process improvements across the planning lifecycle.
About you
You’re a strategic planner with proven leadership experience and deep expertise in rail infrastructure. You bring clarity to complex planning challenges and thrive in environments that require cross-functional collaboration. You lead with purpose, influence stakeholders effectively, and drive planning outcomes that shape long-term investment.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Strong background in rail asset planning or maintenance.
- In-depth technical knowledge of rail infrastructure and how assets interact.
- Strategic mindset with a risk-based approach to planning and decision-making.
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering (eligible for Engineers Australia membership).
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
- Familiarity with ISO55001 and ERP systems such as JD Edwards is desirable.
- Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills.
