About the Role

SeaLink K'gari Tours and Marine, are seeking a confident and dedicated Coach Builder Apprentice ready to commence a foundation in the automotive manufacturing industry.

This apprenticeship is a fantastic way to gain the skills, knowledge and experience in the production of bus, vehicle, vessel and trailer and components manufacture. Upon completion, you will obtain the qualification of Certificate III in Automotive Manufacturing Technical Operations - Bus, Truck and Trailer.

Based at our Urangan workshop, you will work with and learn from a great team of qualified tradespersons who take pride in the delivery of fleet building and maintenance. The team's main goal is to deliver a fully operational fleet of vehicles to provide our guests an amazing experience across the beautiful Island of K'gari.

This apprenticeship is a permanent basis, working 76 hours per fortnight including the periodical attendance at an independent educational institute. Our ideal candidate is living in Hevery Bay or its surrounds, is willing to commute from time to time and has a positive 'can do' attitude.

Key Role Requirements

- Actively follow all Workplace Health & Safety procedures and practices consistent with legislative requirements and regulations

- Provide automotive manufacturing, installs and repairs on buses, plant & equipment, vessels and a range of different vehicles

- Fabrication of panels

- Perform welding, cutting of metals and other materials

- Install automotive systems, components and accessories

- Paint vehicle chassis and panels

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

- Keen interest in automotive manufacturing of vehicles, trailers, vessels, busses

- Keen interest in welding and metal fabrication

- Keen interest in workshop operations and associated tools and equipment

- Good communication written and verbal

- Team player with a willingness to learn and develop

- QLD Driver's licence preferred or willingness to obtain

- Demonstrated ability to engage in physical work
