Overview
It doesn/u2019t happen often that we have the opportunity of offering an experienced Category Manager to join our team (NSW/ VIC/QLD based). We are seeking a talented, dynamic, and commercially savvy individual with demonstrable experience of retail category management, driving innovation and leading a capable team. You will have overall responsibility for the growth and profitability of the category.
Responsibilities
- Optimise sales and profit, managing inventory to annual budget targets
- Leadership of the category team
- Development and execution of a customer focussed category strategy in a Trans-Tasman omni-channel business
- Identifying market/product opportunities
- Development of product ranges and competitive promotional calendar
- Range reviews
- Development of strong internal and external relationships
- Maintain effective relationships with domestic and OS Suppliers
About you
An experienced Category/Product Manager, Buyer or Account Manager who is results focussed, with a dynamic, go-getter mentality, ensuring your category always exceeds customer expectations and delivers strong commercial outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will have
- A strong commercial acumen and merchandise/category background, Omni-channel preferred
- Analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
- Long-term strategic thinking and planning ability
- Experience working in a cross-functional environment
- Outstanding communication skills, collaborative and relationship building abilities
- An inspirational leadership style
- Customer centric decision-making skills
- Ability to convince various stakeholders, business network and suppliers in different regions to support category strategies and initiatives.
- A team player, who is focussed on success
- A valid driver/u2019s license is essential.
