About the Role

Equity Mates is looking for an Business Operations Analyst to join our growing team. You’ll work directly with the Head of Operations to help the business run more efficiently, grow faster, and make better decisions.

We’re looking for someone with strong business acumen, a sharp analytical brain, and an appetite to learn.

This role is ideal for someone who:

- Loves solving problems and making things work better.

- Sees AI and data as practical tools, not buzzwords.

- Can think strategically but also doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty.

Equity Mates Media operates as an independent media business within the Betashares Financial Group, combining entrepreneurial DNA with the backing of one of Australia’s leading financial services providers, offering the country’s broadest range of ETFs, diversified portfolios, and innovative investment solutions through Betashares Direct and Superannuation. Role Responsibilities

The role will cover a broad range of tasks, with a focus on supporting the Head of Operations to run the business more efficiently, track performance, and execute initiatives.

Responsibilities will evolve as the business grows, but examples include:

- Streamline operations, manage projects, and improve systems across the business.

- Automate workflows using tools like Zapier to eliminate manual work.

- Track performance and insights across YouTube, podcasts, newsletters, and referral programs to inform strategy.

- Support financial processes including budgeting, reporting, and audits.

- Manage our financial advice referral program - from partner relationships to improving the user journey through automation.

- Oversee website and email automations (Beehiiv, Typeform, etc.), ensuring content and data flows run efficiently.

- Prepare and coordinate key internal documents – planning decks, meeting agendas, board materials, and compliance updates.

- Support the execution of growth and marketing initiatives.

About You

- Are curious, resourceful, and solutions-oriented - you love figuring things out.

- Are tech‑savvy - you pick up new platforms quickly (knowledge of Zapier and Notion a plus).

- Are analytical - you can turn messy data into clear insights and recommendations.

- Can communicate clearly and coordinate projects and people effectively.

- Have strong Microsoft Office/Excel skills and comfort with data tools or dashboards.

- Are excited about media, investing, or startups (bonus if you’ve worked in any of them).

- Thrive in an environment that values ownership, experimentation, and initiative.
