About the Client:
MSS Accounting Solution is a trusted firm specialising in accounting and tax advisory services. Their clientele spans a wide range, from individuals and sole traders to small and medium-sized enterprises. The company provides comprehensive business support, including taxation, accounting, tax planning, and consulting. They are currently looking for an experienced accountant to join their team at their Clyde North office in Victoria.

About the Role:
This is a permanent full-time position offering a competitive annual salary of $77,000 plus superannuation. The role is based at their office in Clyde North, VIC, and will play a key role in financial reporting, compliance, and business analysis across multiple business units.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning & Analysis
- Prepare cash flow statements and budgets
- Evaluate financial risks for capital investment projects
- Assist the Finance Manager in preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
- Analyse financial figures and comment on discrepancies
- Analyse operating costs and expenditures, escalating findings to senior management for improvement
- Analyse business operations, trends, costs, and revenue

2. Accounting Systems & Internal Controls
- Develop and implement accounting and internal control systems
- Select appropriate accounting policies
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with prescribed policies and procedures
- Ensure the accuracy of information provided in financial statements

3. Financial & Special Purpose Reporting
- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising accounting information for stakeholders
- Prepare special purpose reports related to:
-- Absorption
- -Consolidation
-- Mergers
-- Capital financing
-- Financial commitments and obligations (if required)

4. Compliance, Tax & Liaison
- Liaise with external accountants for the preparation of tax returns and Business Activity Statements (BAS)
- Liaise with external tax accountants and government authorities for auditing purposes

5. Payroll Management
- Supervise end-to-end payroll processing for 100+ employees on both a weekly and fortnightly basis

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in a professional capacity within Australia
- At least 3 years of commercial experience using MYOB, Quickbooks & Xero Accounting software
- Experience with Cargo wise is highly desirable (not mandatory)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Must have at least 3 years' experience dealing tax advice including corporate tax, personal tax effectiveness and indirect taxation
- At least 3 years of commercial experience with company income tax and GST
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Shows initiative and strong problem-solving skills
- Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time-management skills and ability to work under pressure
