The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will join a high-performing team building Immutable’s flagship product, Immutable Play. Immutable Play is an all-in-one platform that helps studios build, launch, and scale Web3 games globally with ease and security. Immutable Passport provides onboarding through a secure, non-custodial wallet with passwordless sign-in and automatic wallet creation.

You will be a strong fullstack engineer with a focus on frontend skills, while maintaining hands-on exposure to backend systems. You will work closely with product, design, and founders to shape key product decisions, owning tooling, technology, and architecture with freedom to move fast and deliver impact. We operate in small squads (3–4 engineers) with frequent pairing or mobbing.

This is true product engineering. You’ll collaborate with Product, Design, and other Engineers, with a real seat at the table to help shape what we build. Web3 experience is not required; strong engineering skills, a team-first mindset, and curiosity about digital ownership are essential.

Responsibilities and What You’ll Be Empowered To Do

- Work across Immutable Play end-to-end to build and scale Web3 games (play.immutable.com)
- Focus on client-side components of Play, especially TypeScript and UI components
- Participate in team planning and product design sessions
- Help estimate and prioritise proposed features
- Work in an experimental environment, learning from customer feedback and iterating on products
- Use a tech stack including TypeScript, React, Next.js, Go, Node.js, AWS Lambda, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Microservices, Event Oriented Systems, Terraform; gain exposure to Blockchain Development such as Solidity
- Show interest in helping set product direction for the team
- Engage with diverse stakeholders, including Founders, to drive product decisions
- Collaborate with team members to ensure operational excellence of services
- Continuously improve ways of working

Qualifications

- 6+ years of Full-Stack Software Engineering experience in a product development environment
- Rapid prototyping and a passion for delivering outstanding user experience
- Experience in or openness to startup-style ambiguity
- Product Engineer mindset with a strong product-first approach
- Extensive front-end experience with TypeScript and React
- Strong back-end experience with TypeScript; Golang is a bonus
- Knowledge of system design to meet user and business requirements
- Experience in testing client-side applications at unit, component, and app levels
- Passion for delivering high-quality products to users with care and empathy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across stakeholders
- Comfort using AI tools to assist development
- Ability to teach best practices to junior team members
- Experience in a startup or high-growth tech environment with multiple roles and ambiguity
- Interest or knowledge in Web3 space

Bonus Points

- Exposure to back-end engineering with AWS
- Familiarity with blockchain or Web3 technologies (e.g., Ethereum, smart contracts, or crypto wallets)
