About the Role

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on the needs of participants with acquired brain injury, the Senior Occupational Therapist is responsible for the provision and management of specialised, high-quality Occupational Therapy services delivered within Brain Injury SA. Duties include:

- Managing and evaluating best practice.
- Maintaining high-level clinical standards in supervision of staff and students.
- Implementing innovative clinical practices.

The incumbent also assists the Team Leader in:

- Managing human and physical resources required to meet service demand.
- Developing and documenting systems to support quality and clinical standards.
- Providing advice and consultancy to service funders, management, and professional networks.
- Providing clinical and professional leadership to Occupational Therapists.

This position holds delegated pairing with Occupational Therapy Lead.

Qualifications / Registrations:

- Relevant qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Professional Registration with AHPRA.
- Home modifications/Equipment Prescription experience.
- Specialised assessment and report writing.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience specialising in neurology/brain injury or minimum 4 years’ experience in broad Occupational Therapy practice.
- Current (within the last 3 years) DCSI “Child related employment screening”.
- Experience working with adults with Acquired Brain Injury.
- Experience RTW service delivery/interest in employment rehabilitation.
- NDIS knowledge/experience.
- Driving assessment knowledge/experience.
- Experience supervising students and junior staff.

- Clinical practice and case load management.
- Service planning and delivery.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills incorporating excellent communication, organisational, and negotiation skills.
