As an experienced and passionate communicator, Royal Far West’s Media and Communications Manager will be a skilled writer with a keen eye for detail who can distil complex ideas into concise and engaging stories that connect with our internal and external stakeholders.

Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and Marketing, they will have a strong media contacts and acumen and be experienced in creating and delivering communications and supporting marketing and brand campaigns. Previous experience in the not-for-profit/charity space will be highly regarded.

As a member of the Marketing & Communications team, the role is best suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, who can work autonomously, manage projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organisation.

This role will ensure RFW’s media and communications activities are aligned with the Marketing Strategy and complement the organisation’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Developing, implementing, and evaluating media and PR campaigns
- Leading the development of the Annual Report each year
- Creating quality content in various formats to help promote RFW and advocate for the country children we support to our various audiences. This can include but will not be limited to social media posts, web copy, blogs, reports, brochures, factsheets, and eDMs
- Creating engaging internal communications to keep RFW employees informed through a range of channels including EDMs, Intranet and other formats
- Supporting stakeholders to develop proposals, award, and conference submissions
- Help support fundraising campaigns and events when required

Desired Skills and Experience

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE

- A minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role/s
- Tertiary qualifications in communication, marketing, or a related area
- Engaging and professional communicator and relationship builder
- Strong copywriting with demonstrated skills in writing for social and websites
- Action driven, organised and able to manage multiple projects at one time
- Ability to problem solve, work flexibly and collaboratively within a team environment
- Fluent in Meltwater or similar media monitoring service, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Empathy for children’s health issues
- Experience working within the not-for-profit, public health, community, or government sectors
- Understanding of SEO
- Experience with Google Analytics, CRMs (eg Salesforce) Social Media Scheduling Tools (eg Hootsuite), CMS (eg WordPress) and Email Marketing applications)
