About The Role:
The Computer Aided Design and Drafting Manager manages CADD services, projects and advice for personnel and clients to meet their building records needs and to meet corporate objectives. Acts as expert on CADD matters for the Department. This position manages the collection and storage, retrieval, registration and issuing of the State Government’s building records through the operations of the Building Records section.
About You:
We are looking for an individual whose experience and knowledge positions them well to manage CADD services, projects, and advice across the Department, acting as the expert on CADD matters while overseeing the collection, storage, retrieval, and issuance of State Government building records.
The role will require extensive work and liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including Buildings and Contracts personnel, clients, consultants, contractors, and industry representatives, to ensure compliance with departmental standards, the State Records Act, and corporate objectives.
You will have considerable experience in managing medium-risk, complex CADD contracts and projects, with strong skills in researching, analysing, and reporting information to resolve issues and drive outcomes. You will also demonstrate in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with PC-based CADD and graphics systems and applications, particularly AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, along with expertise in developing and managing electronic databases related to CADD drawings, asset registers, and building manuals.
This position operates in the context of Leading Others . This means that you will motivate and enable others to deliver high quality work. You will balance time between doing the work and coaching, guiding and developing others. This requires a significant shift in thinking from ‘doing’ to supporting others to ‘do good work’; and consideration of present and future needs when allocating time to the team and projects you lead. You will articulate how work is to be done, providing clear direction and feedback.
How to Apply:
If you have what it takes to be part of our dynamic and forward-thinking team, submit the following in MS Word or PDF format only:
- A comprehensive CV that shows your skills, experiences and key achievements, including the contact details of two referees (with one being your current or most recent supervisor).
- Cover letter of two (2) pages or less, outlining how you meet the essential requirements of the role and demonstrate leadership behaviours.
Please ensure you apply before the closing deadline as we won’t accept late and incomplete applications.
Further Job-Related Information:
To assist you in preparing your application, please refer to the Applicant Information Pack, Job Description Form, and Leadership Behaviours.
