About the role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Automation Engineer who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and end-to-end ownership of projects. From coding and system design to commissioning and customer support, you/'ll play a key role in delivering world-class automation solutions.

As part of a collaborative engineering team, you/'ll be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation systems that integrate electrical, control, and software elements. You/'ll also provide hands-on commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer support, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.

- Lead the automation project lifecycle - design, program, test, and commission automation systems.

- Deliver high-quality PLC and HMI programming, with strong focus on Rockwell and ABB platforms (Siemens desirable).

- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and customers to ensure smooth project delivery.

- Provide on-site and remote troubleshooting support, resolving complex technical issues quickly and effectively.

- Maintain rigorous standards for compliance, safety, and technical documentation.

- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in automation processes and best practices.

- Participate in the support roster to provide after-hours assistance when required.

Skills and Experience

- Degree-qualified engineer with 5+ years/' experience in automation, controls, or related fields.

- Strong background in PLC/HMI development, control systems, and electrical integration.

- Practical experience in packaging, machinery, or manufacturing environments.

- Skilled in Rockwell and ABB programming (Siemens an advantage).

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Experience in commissioning, field service, or customer support highly regarded.

- Knowledge of ISO, WHS, and other relevant standards.
