Overview Division: Independent Public School - North Metropolitan Education Region Salary: Level 3, $1,254.30 - $1,268.90 per week (pro-rata) (GS (Misc.) GA 2025) This is a permanent part-time (0.75FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2026 As an Independent Public School, Goollelal Primary School (PS) caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The Role The Cleaner In Charge is responsible for opening/closing the school, carrying out internal cleaning duties (including maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilet cleaning, furniture and fittings, window cleaning, dusting, rubbish removal, and other general cleaning tasks) and external cleaning duties (verandas, covered areas, rubbish removal, drinking troughs, window cleaning, cobweb removal, and related duties). They will also perform vacation cleaning duties, including stripping and sealing vinyl floors, window cleaning, shampooing of carpets, pressure cleaning of verandas and undercover areas, and other duties as required. The Cleaner in Charge at Goollelal PS works a split shift of 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the afternoon. The successful applicant will ideally have experience in supervising staff, working with school staff and managing staff performance in consultation with the Manager Corporate Services. They will liaise with the Manager Corporate Services on all cleaning matters, record and respond to issues, maintain the cleaner’s time book, arrange relief staff, and be responsible for monitoring and ordering stock supplies and stocktake of cleaning resources.
