Following a strategic redesign, we’ve sharpened our focus and are investing in the future - starting with the people who will help shape it.

Applications are open for a key role in our Melbourne based Engineering team for an experienced Certification Engineer.
As our successful applicant, you will support the Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA) to ensure that systems and modifications meet the requirements of the Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR) and military airworthiness standards.
Join us to take on a range of stimulating projects that are essential to maintaining the safety and compliance of Defence aviation operations.
This role will see you involved in:
- Certification Assessments: Conducting and supporting the certification of Defence aerodromes, including evaluating certification products and compliance evidence.
- Regulatory Guidance Development: Assisting Aerodrome Operators in developing aerodrome operating intent, certification basis, and compliance documentation.
- Policy and Standards Amendment: Tracking and reviewing updates to CASA and ICAO regulatory practices, and proposing and developing amendment packages for DASA policies and standards.
- Tools and Knowledge Development: Creating promotional materials, templates, and guides to streamline the certification process and support corporate knowledge retention.
To be successful in this role you will need aviation sector experience coupled with compliance assessment and/or auditing experience and relevant technical qualifications.
Whilst not essential, knowledge and understanding of aerodrome design and construction, and systems and processes for aerodrome facilities inspections and management is highly desirable as is knowledge and understanding of Aerodrome certification requirements, including DASR or CASR Part 139. Experience gained in a role such as: aerodrome engineer, aerodrome electrical engineer, aerodrome ground lighting specialist, pavement engineer, or survey engineer will also be highly regarded.
Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible to hold a minimum of a Baseline Australian Defence security clearance. Current security clearance will be well regarded.
Whilst applications must be made online, confidential enquiries are welcome and may be directed to Roz Byrne in the Talent Acquisition team (email: rbyrne@qinetiq.com.au). A position description is available upon request.
