About the Role
This role is ideal for someone who’s passionate about joining a collaborative team environment and contributing to the development of one of our key products. You’ll assist across all aspects of software development and coding, working closely with team members to implement high-quality solutions and deliver outstanding support for our products and customers.

Day-to-day
- Work closely with our development teams to deliver clear, effective, and high-impact code-based solutions
- Show strong knowledge of the basic concepts of software development
- Support the development team through:
- Innovative software development and Coding
- Resolving bugs and building new features
- Researching ways to solve problems technically
- Monitoring technical platforms and internal systems, reporting and escalating risks as necessary
- Learning and applying DevOps practices and processes to strengthen delivery
- Using metrics and alerting to monitor and manage support for our products
- Documenting solutions and processes to encourage learning and improvement
- Developing a solid working knowledge of cloud-based solutions (GCP/AWS)
- Implementing support processes that keep our products running smoothly
- Collating and preparing reports that provide the team with valuable data and insights
- Using infrastructure as code to deliver products more efficiently and effectively
- Learning new skills and processes to support our products and development teams
- Actively participating in development estimation discussions to strengthen communication with the product team
- Conducting development tests as required to ensure quality outcomes
- Actively participating in knowledge-sharing sessions
To be successful in the role
In this role, success comes from a willingness to learn, a hands-on approach to technical work, and strong teamwork skills. Ideally you have:
- A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or IT, and/or 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of Golang, Containerisation, Kubernetes, Grpc, Kafka is a bonus.
- Understanding of one or more of the following coding languages: React, React Native, TypeScript/JavaScript, NEXT JS, CSS and HTML, WebAPI/REST/GraphQL, Node JS, Golang and/or PHP.
- Awareness, knowledge or experience with Agile management tools and methodologies such as Atlassian Jira/Confluence.
- Strong analytical, proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- The ability to work both collaboratively and independently across multiple priorities.
- An interest in understanding new technologies and trends
- A genuine passion for making a positive impact on the business and team culture
- Flexibility to support international and domestic clients outside regular business hours as required
- Experience in the Horse Racing and Wagering industry is highly valued
