THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a full-time capable and motivated Application Developer to support the ongoing development, maintenance, and improvement of a core business application critical to our operations, working from our new Collins Square office. In this role, you will be responsible for building and enhancing application features, resolving complex technical issues, and ensuring the overall performance and reliability of the system.

A key aspect of your work will involve close collaboration with an external vendor responsible for maintaining the application. You’ll help prioritise development tasks, coordinate bug fixes and updates, and ensure that all solutions align with business objectives. This role offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to system stability and efficiency, while working as part of a knowledgeable and supportive internal team.

Key responsibilities include:

- Designing, developing, testing, and deploying application features and enhancements.
- Providing Level 3 support, including troubleshooting software bugs and performance issues.
- Collaborating with external vendors to manage releases, updates, and technical discussions.
- Supporting system integrations and contributing to internal documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Participating in planning sessions, sprint reviews, and team discussions to align development with business needs.

WHO YOU ARE

You are a detail-oriented and solutions-focused developer who thrives in a technical environment and takes ownership of outcomes. You’re confident in your ability to diagnose complex problems, write clean and efficient code, and communicate effectively with both internal teams and external partners.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years’ experience in application development and support roles.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile development tools (e.g., Jira).
- A track record of working with third-party vendors or outsourced development teams.
- Familiarity with application performance tuning, debugging, and root cause analysis.
- Experience with enterprise systems and cloud platforms (with a preference for Azure).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into business-relevant insights.

If you’re looking for a role where you can make a tangible impact on the systems that support critical business functions, this could be the opportunity for you.

WHY JOIN US?

Aside from a fantastic opportunity to join one of Australia's leading ASX listed residential builders, Simonds can offer you:

- Great benefits across a wide range of products and services including a generous discount on our award-winning homes as well as all the great things that go in them.
- Access to our free employee well-being program, including counselling, nutritional, financial, and legal support for both you and your immediate family.
- Access to Simonds Reward Days - receive an extra day of leave per year.
- Opportunities for professional and personal growth through our Learning and Development programs on our inhouse Simonds Learning platform.
- Generous rewards and recognition.

A commensurate remuneration package will be negotiated with the right candidate.

If this sounds like your next opportunity, we'd love to hear from you as soon as possible
