The opportunity

MinRes is seeking highly experienced Environmental Superintendent to manage our environmental approvals and compliance to support the continuity of our Lucky Bay site. We are looking for a proactive key leader who is committed to environmental excellence and making a tangible impact.

You will play an integral role leading and providing high level advice to site personnel, overseeing projects to ensure the consistent delivery of environmental compliance activities are met onsite, whilst obtaining regulatory approvals to support our onsite development activities.

For this role you will be based at our MinRes HQ Office located in Osborne Park, with frequent travel required to oversee our projects. Become part of a team dedicated to upholding environmental standards and ensuring sustainable project success.

Responsibilities

- Provide onsite engagement with site team to ensure understanding and commitment to environmental compliance
- Support auditing, inspection, monitoring, and reporting processes
- Assist in Environmental incident reporting, action completion, action tracking and ICAMs
- Support stakeholders and provision of scientific advice with respect to environmental aspects of the project
- Assist with, and undertake, the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and approvals processes to ensure the timely delivery of regulatory approvals under Mining Act, Parts IV and V of State environmental legislation as well as the Federal EPBC Act, as required
- Coordination and management of operational approvals projects, including scoping technical studies and surveys, scheduling and budget tracking
- Preparation of environmental approval applications and supporting documents that adhere to government policy/guidelines and are in accordance with agreed Execution Plans and approvals schedules
- Ensure the provision of all necessary information to support the grant of all necessary environmental approvals.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and have an active involvement in external audits as required.
- Assist environmental incident investigation and follow up corrective actions with the respective stakeholders.
- Coordination and execution of environmental monitoring

Requirements

- A bachelor’s degree within Environmental Science or similar discipline
- Extensive environmental management and operational approvals experience, within mining or resources industry.
- Demonstrated success leading a team, inclusive of contractors to achieve project goals
- Comprehensive understanding and ability to interpret environmental legislation, guidelines, standards and other requirements
- Demonstrated experience providing strategic and operational environmental advice across all business levels
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders to enhance project outcomes
- Problem solver and mentor. Fast thinker that is systematic, engaging, and thrives on change
- Sound experience with GIS software skills
