Join Our Team as an Assistant in Nursing: Make a Difference in the Lives of Aboriginal Communities

Are you passionate about supporting the delivery of high-quality, home-based care and making a meaningful impact in Aboriginal communities? We're looking for a dedicated Assistant in Nursing (AIN) to provide support in the delivery of care. This is your chance to use your skills and expertise to assist in delivering exceptional care that helps individuals maintain their independence and live fulfilling lives.

About the Role

The Assistant in Nursing at this level supports Enrolled and Registered Nurses/Midwives in the delivery of general patient/client care and undertakes basic nursing duties that would otherwise have been performed by an Enrolled or Registered Nurse/Midwife. In this role, you will support Enrolled and Registered Nurses/Midwives in providing general patient and client care, ensuring that each individual receives the necessary care and attention in their home environment. You will undertake basic nursing duties, such as monitoring vital signs, assisting with personal care needs, and supporting clients with activities of daily living. These tasks are crucial in maintaining the comfort and well-being of the individuals in your care.

Additionally, you will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure that care plans are followed appropriately. Your role will involve maintaining accurate records of patient and client care, helping to track progress and identifying any concerns or changes in health status. Should any issues arise, you will report these to senior nursing staff for further evaluation and action.

You will ensure that all care delivery is safe, efficient, and compliant with healthcare regulations. This includes adhering to best practices, respecting cultural considerations, and ensuring that the care provided meets both regulatory and personal needs.

What We're Looking For:

- Be enrolled as a student in an undergraduate program in nursing or midwifery (can state year of program eg 3rd year) and have completed any training required by the employer relevant to the safe and competent performance of work at this level; OR
