Albany Creek Veterinary Surgery is on the lookout for a veterinarian who prides themselves on their positive attitude, positive energy, enthusiasm and great clinical skills to join our vibrant small animal clinic. About us:

Albany Creek Veterinary Surgery is a small animal hospital that has been operating for over 30 years. We work in a purpose-built hospital, open Monday to Friday 7:30am to 6pm, and Saturday from 8:30am to 4pm.

We have a long standing and well-established, enthusiastic team of skilled vets and vet nurses who are great fun to work with

We support each other to achieve the highest quality patient care and excellent customer service

We promote client education, modern medicine and good communication

Our clinic has a range of equipment to allow inhouse workup of the majority of cases (ProCyte Dx, Catalyst Dx, Sedivue Dx and UA, CoAg and SNAPshot Dx), and a very supportive specialist clinic and emergency clinic 5 minutes down the road. These tools in combination with a new DR x-ray machine and MyLab ultrasound machine allow us to diagnose, treat and monitor most conditions.

We encourage full medical work-ups (half the fun of being a vet) and offer a large range of orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries in house – we also have a fantastic visiting surgeon, specialist cardiologist, and medicine specialist ultra-sonographer for the trickier cases. If you have a particular interest, we would love to support you to develop your skills in this too

About you:

A genuine love for the job, the pets and their people – we want someone who truly cares

Ideally a vet with 2+ years experience, however if you are the right person we can teach all the skills you need regardless of experience

Enthusiasm, warmth, compassion

Strong communication skills and team spirit

Someone with an open mind and ideas to help us grow as a clinic

About the position:

Modern facilities, up-to-date equipment and a desire for best practice medicine

A 4-day work week (meaning 1 regular RDO), with 2 in 5 Saturdays (and at least one long weekend every roster)

Remuneration depending on experience, paid hourly (you get paid for what you work)

4 weeks annual leave, 1 week study leave, $2000 CPD allowance
