Cairns, Australia Plena Healthcare Full time

At Plena Healthcare, we’re proud to be Australia’s leading provider of mobile allied health services, bringing over 20 years of experience across the aged care, community, and disability sectors. Our purpose is clear and powerful: to enrich lives through compassionate, evidence-based care. That purpose is felt most deeply in our regional teams, where your work truly changes lives.

Now part of the Australian Unity family, Plena is growing, but our values remain unchanged. We’re still just as committed to supporting our clients with high-quality care, and to offering our team members stable, meaningful careers with real opportunities for growth. We have recently been chosen as the preferred provider for a range of residential aged care sites in the region and are looking for talent therapists to join us in servicing those sites

Your Opportunity:

As an Allied Health Assistant working in Residential Aged Care, you’ll play a vital role in supporting older people to stay active, independent, and connected to their communities. Guided by our clinicians and through our award-winning Plena Care Pathway, you’ll help deliver reablement-focused programs that make a real difference in residents’ lives.

You’ll be involved in a range of areas, including:

- Supporting mobility and functional programs
- Assisting with restorative therapy
- Facilitating falls prevention and active ageing group sessions
- Assisting with pressure care and pain management plans
- Collaborating with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and care staff to deliver resident-centred support

Whether you’re helping with one-on-one therapy programs or encouraging residents in group activities, your work will be purpose-driven and deeply rewarding.

In return, you’ll be supported by a large and collaborative national team, ongoing mentoring, and access to professional development opportunities. You’ll also enjoy flexible work arrangements, a paid induction, and a culture that genuinely values work-life balance.

We’re committed to supporting your next step into this role, with opportunities for growth and development across our Plena Care Pathway.

We’re looking for:

- Qualified Allied Health Assistants (Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance, or equivalent experience).
- Current Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy students seeking hands-on experience in aged care are encouraged to apply.
- Australian working rights.
- Willingness to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening and a National Police Check.
- A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel within a dedicated region.

If you're ready to take your skills somewhere they can truly shine and want to be part of a team that’s redefining aged care through innovation, compassion, and evidence-based practice, we’d love to hear from you.
