Overview
Respect Aged Care are currently seeking a caring, organised, and motivated Social Care Assistant to join our team at Derwent Views in Tasmania. This is a permanent, part-time opportunity for someone who enjoys working with older people and making a meaningful impact on their daily lives. The ideal candidate will be proactive, a strong communicator, and passionate about delivering engaging and inclusive lifestyle programs.

Role Overview
The Social Care Assistant is responsible for facilitating a variety of individual, group, and community-based lifestyle activities tailored to the physical, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of our residents. You will play a key role in promoting wellbeing, inclusion, and enjoyment within the home.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Certificate III or IV in Aged Care or a related discipline
- Current National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Empathy and sensitivity towards residents from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication skills when engaging with residents, families, staff, and visitors
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Document social profiles of new residents and assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating individual social care plans
- Contribute to the planning, coordination, and delivery of group and individual activities
- Maintain and manage resources for the activities program
- Prepare and distribute newsletters, activity notices, and related correspondence
- Support the Social Care Co-Ordinator and General Manager in coordinating and supervising volunteers
- Undertake other appropriate duties aligned with your skills, as directed by the organisation
