Temp Station is delighted to announce that we are currently recruiting a Transport Planning Assistant to join a busy and established freight forwarding client in the Normanton WF6 area on a permanent basis.

Transport Planning Assistant Job Description:

1. Assist in ensuring that planned runs are achieved in a timely manner, exceeding customer needs.
2. Communicate effectively with the operations department, customers, and hauliers.
3. Manage all Proofs of Delivery (PODs), upload them into the TMS, and send POD requests to customers or colleagues.
4. Keep the transport and sub-contractor logs up to date.
5. Communicate with drivers throughout the day, monitor progress, and address any issues during shifts.
6. Follow and improve processes related to performance.
7. Book out-of-area or hazardous jobs onto the pallet network/Hazchem portals.
8. Provide quotes internally and externally via calls and emails.
9. Provide holiday cover for planners.
10. Act as the lead planner during periods of annual leave throughout the year.
11. Requirements: At least 3 years of experience working in a fast-paced transport department.
12. Understanding of drivers' working hours and driving time regulations.
13. Good geographical knowledge of UK road networks.
