A Business Analyst who focuses on software plays a key role in bridging the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders. Their main job is to understand the needs of the business and translate those into clear, actionable requirements for software developers and product teams.
They collaborate closely with users, product managers, developers, and testers to identify problems, map out processes, and define the features or systems that will solve business challenges. This might involve writing user stories, creating process diagrams, or running workshops to gather input from different departments.
Software-focused BAs help ensure that digital solutions are built with the right purpose, meet real user needs, and support business goals. They’re analytical, meticulous, and good at both technical thinking and people communication.
