Quality Assurance Inspector
ATCO Gas owns and operates Western Australia/'s largest gas distribution network, with over 800,000 connection points and 14,500km of pipelines. ATCO also operates two progressive power generation stations - in Adelaide and the Pilbara. The Quality and Distribution Inspector will be responsible for undertaking inspections and investigations on industrial, commercial, civil, and domestic installations in line with the Gas Inspection program to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and gas installation standards.
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct inspections and assess the competency of ATCO’s contractors and internal workforce to ensure installations meet ATCO’s requirements and commercial agreements.
- Inspect works on the gas distribution system by contractors and internal workforce, ensuring compliance with technical and operational standards and regulations. This includes:
- Undertake inspections and investigations on industrial, commercial, and domestic installations in line with regulatory obligations and gas installation standards.
- Undertake site safety inspections
- Work closely with contractors and internal staff, providing mentoring and expert advice on design, construction fault finding, and problem-solving to ensure work meets operational standards, safety requirements and regulations.
- Issue Corrective action reports or Rectifications
- Offer input and advice on network improvement opportunities and recommendations through Technical Services.
What we are looking for
- Certificate III in Gas Operations OR ATCO Common Trench qualification (highly desirable)
- G Class Gas-fitting Licence (desirable)
- Well-developed IT skills with the ability to use web-based applications to capture inspections
- Considerable technical knowledge of gas industry regulations with significant experience in industrial, commercial and civil construction.
- Well-developed communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to influence and build relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated organisational skills to efficiently manage tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and streamline processes in a fast-paced work environment.
- Current C Class Drivers Licence.
