About Us

Jemena is an Australian energy company who owns and operates over $12.4 Billion worth of gas and electricity transportation assets across Australia supplying millions of households and businesses with essential services every day.

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Payroll Advisor to join our high-performing team supporting payroll operations across the SGSPAA group, including Jemena. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services across multiple entities and industrial agreements.

You’ll be part of a supportive and flexible team that primarily works remotely, with optional access to our Melbourne office. The team is geographically spread across Queensland and Victoria, so collaboration happens virtually—with occasional in-person events.

Key responsibilities include:

- End-to-end payroll processing using PayGlobal across multiple EBAs and sites
- Accurate data entry, leave reconciliations, and employee separation payments
- Ensuring compliance with legislation, EBAs, and company policies
- Collaborating with internal teams (HR, IT, Tax, Procurement) and external providers
- Supporting continuous improvement and service excellence across payroll operations

About you

You’re a confident and detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You’re not afraid to ask questions, dig into complex EBAs, and support your teammates when needed. You bring a strong sense of ownership and a collaborative mindset.

To be successful, you’ll bring:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in payroll, ideally in large or complex environments
- Proven ability to manage multiple EBAs and interpret lengthy agreements
- High-level accuracy in data entry and payroll checking
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel)
- Experience with PayGlobal is highly desirable

Why you should come and work for us

Our people are our greatest strength and inspiration so having various flexible working options, paid parental leave and leave purchase plans amongst many other benefits are key foundational elements on which we have built our success. We are passionate about what we do and we are proud of who we are. Safety is the cornerstone of our organisation and respect for community and country is the keystone that locks in place our Group Values.

Diversity/Inclusion

We understand and value the multiple strengths and contributions of a diverse workforce, the ability hybrid where possible, and our Reconciliation Action Plan is demonstrated commitment to employment, business, and partnership opportunities with Australia’s First Peoples. We actively encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.

When you join Jemena, you become part of our diverse, inclusive and passionate team, where you can be your committed self.

Recruitment Process

As part of Jemena’s recruitment process, you will be required to undergo pre-employment checks.

Notice to Third Parties: Jemena does not accept unsolicited resumes (or liability associated with fees or costs) from recruitment agencies, search firms or third parties. Interested candidates are welcome to submit their application independently.
