Permanent full-time role available, 76 hours p.f.
Working with us
- Base salary ranges between $75,090 and $103,261 p.a. (HWF3).
- One-year isolation bonus: AUD$3,500; two-year total AUD$10,500; third year and every year after AUD$7,000.
- Providing 2 return airfares p.a. (inc. spouse/dependents) to the nearest east coast provincial city in conjunction with recreation leave.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.

The Doomadgee Hospital provides 24-hour acute inpatient and accident and emergency care. It is located in the far North-western corner of Queensland on the Nicholson River near the gulf of Carpentaria.
The Waanyi and Gangalidda people are recognised as the Traditional Custodians of the area.

About the role
The purpose of the position is to support Clinicians to provide culturally safe and appropriate health care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with kidney disease and those requiring dialysis, who access the North West Hospital and Health Services.
The role will involve working across in the NWHHS Renal Service under the guidance and support of a Clinical Nurse and Registered Nurse and other members of the Renal multidisciplinary team. Primarily based in Doomadgee.
Requirements
- It is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders.
- The position will involve travel to various facilities or units within the Northwest Hospital and Health Service.
- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
- Working with Children check may be required prior to appointment.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
- A period of probation may apply.
