Overview Network Operator - Water Operations (Taree/Tuncurry) at MidCoast Council. Location: Taree and Tuncurry. We are seeking candidates with a water background or relevant trades qualification (plumber, fitter, mechanical). Role As a Network Operator, you will provide assistance in the response, continuous operation, and planned and unplanned maintenance of Council's water and wastewater networks. A typical day involves: - Sewer pump station maintenance, clearance of sewer blockages and extension of existing sewer mains - Water main repairs, valve replacements - Responding to emergency situations such as water main breaks to minimise impact for the community - Introduction to telemetry / SCADA systems to diagnose issues within the network Responsibilities - Support operation and maintenance of water and wastewater networks - Assist in responding to faults and emergencies - Participate in planned maintenance and defect rectification Qualifications & Experience - Previous experience in the water, wastewater or industrial process industry, or a relevant trade qualification - Hold a Class C drivers licence and be willing to obtain an MR licence - Demonstrate interest and knowledge of pumping systems and equipment - Available for on-call, call-back and after-hours duties Requirements - Confined Spaces Statement of Competency - Excavator Certificate of Competency MidCoast Council values a diverse workforce and encourages women to apply. Pre-employment You’ll be required to complete a pre-employment medical check (including drug and alcohol test, vision and hearing, functional and medical components). Salary Comencing salary package range circa $62,700 p.a. to $68,000 p.a. plus superannuation (dependent on skills and experience). An additional water allowance of $133.61 per week applies. Location The normal place of work will be the MidCoast Council Depots in Tuncurry (Grey Gum Road). You may be based at other Council sites across the region. Tenure Permanent, Full Time.
