This is a progressive position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of both classification ranges.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform repairs and maintenance on school infrastructure, including furniture, equipment, locks, and windows, while keeping records aligned with Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards.
- Support the setup and logistics for school events such as assemblies, performances, and major functions.
- Manage delivery and distribution of mail, parcels, documents, and messages across the school with accuracy and efficiency.
- Operate and maintain security systems, including managing alarms and locking/unlocking facilities during core hours.
- Communicate effectively with the Principal, Business Manager, or delegated staff regarding maintenance schedules, urgent repairs, and facility priorities.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve maintenance issues across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general school infrastructure.
- Coordinate with external contractors to ensure timely and effective repairs and maintenance.
- Assist with groundskeeping tasks such as clearing drains, collecting waste, hosing gutters, and supporting event setups for fetes, plays, and sporting events.
- Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, including safe use of chemicals, equipment maintenance, and hazard reporting.
- Support additional security tasks, including banking of school funds and maintaining safety protocols on school grounds.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven hands-on experience in building maintenance and repairs.
- Familiarity with WHS practices and maintenance record-keeping.
- Strong problem-solving skills for common maintenance issues.
- A driver’s licence is preferred but not essential.
