About the Role
At Churches of Christ, we believe in making a difference—every day. As a Qualified Home Care Worker, you’ll join a supportive and values-driven team based at St James Retirement Home in Townsville. Responsible and dedicated to helping older Australians live safely and independently in their own homes.
- Provide personal care and assistance to clients (e.g. showering, grooming, dressing)
- Available for early morning starts between 6am and 6pm, Monday to Friday
- Medication assistance (HLTHPS006 competency required)
- Domestic support (cooking, cleaning, household tasks)
- Social support and transport to appointments, shopping or community outings
- Observing and reporting changes in health and wellbeing
You’ll be part of a flexible team, able to work unsupervised with the ability to work both in the field and in the office as required. Whether you/u2019re out supporting clients or backing up your team administratively, you’ll be a key part of our mission to deliver quality care.
What You’ll Need
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent with 12 months experience
- Completion of HLTHPS006 – Assist Clients with Medication
- HLTAAP001 – Recognise Healthy Body Systems
- CHCCCS031 – Provide Individualised Support
- A current driver’s licence and comprehensively insured vehicle
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
What Make You Stand Out
- A current National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (if applicable)
- Vehicle suitable for work purposes is essential for this role. (Reimbursement of $0.96 per KM is provided for use of own vehicle)
