Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced contentious regulatory specialist to join our client's team. If you thrive in navigating regulatory and public law disputes across various sectors, including financial services, healthcare and government sectors, this opportunity is for you.

About the Role: As a contentious regulatory lawyer, you will be working closely with a highly experienced Partner, who brings over 15 years of expertise in both private practice and the public sector. Your role will involve assisting public sector and corporate clients in handling regulatory and public law disputes.

Responsibilities

- Conducting complex investigations and providing sound advice to clients in disputes, inquiries, and inquests across Commonwealth and State jurisdictions.
- Assisting clients in preparing and responding to investigations conducted by regulatory bodies.
- Advising government agencies on allegations of corrupt conduct, including conducting investigations and representing them before relevant commissions.
- Handling regulatory prosecutions in courts and tribunals.
- Assisting corporations and individuals affected by scams in tracing and recovering funds, including preparing evidence for law enforcement referrals.
- Conducting internal investigations for not-for-profit organisations into integrity and disciplinary complaints.
- Providing support to clients in preparing submissions, witness statements, and responses for inquiries and inquests.
- Advising on judicial review proceedings in relevant courts.

Qualifications and Experience

- Admitted to practice law with extensive experience in contentious regulatory matters, with at least 3 years of experience.
- Proven track record of successfully handling regulatory disputes and investigations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
