We are seeking to establish a pool of Science Teachers for fixed‑term, full‑time and part‑time vacancies that may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The School

Perth Modern School is Western Australia’s only fully selective school for academically gifted students in Years 7 to 12. The Role

Suitable applicants will join a progressive and enthusiastic team of teachers committed to delivering a whole‑school gifted and talented approach across our educational programmes. Responsibilities include:

- Planning and delivering science curriculum for Years 7–12, with particular emphasis on senior‐level Biology/Human Biology and Physics/Chemistry.
- Using differentiated instruction, curriculum telescoping and acceleration to meet student readiness, interests and learning profiles.
- Supporting the advocacy programme to promote the social and emotional development of gifted learners.
- Contributing to co‑curricular activities and the school’s student wellness initiatives.
- Reflecting on teaching practice, assessing effectiveness, and promoting an active and positive learning environment that enables students to reach their highest potential.

Qualifications

Applicants should ideally:

- Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or hold a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of appointment.
- Have experience teaching senior‑level science subjects and demonstrate capacity to integrate innovative, differentiated learning strategies.
