About the Position:
The Skilled Meat Worker role is a vital part of our operations, involving the humane handling and processing of livestock into high-quality meat cuts. This position requires precision, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced wholesale factory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Humanely stun and kill livestock in line with industry and company standards.
Prepare carcasses for processing, including removing internal organs and hides.
Operate equipment to direct and drop carcasses and meat cuts to boning tables.
Skillfully cut meat to separate meat, fat, and tissue from bones.
Wash, scrape, and trim foreign material and blood from meat to ensure cleanliness.
Process meat into standard cuts (e.g., rumps, flanks, shoulders) for packing and marketing.
Operate restrainer and stunning equipment safely and proficiently.
Perform precise slitting, evisceration, and trimming of carcasses.
Adhere to specific religious customs in the slaughter process as required.
Requirements:
Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications: Minimum of AQF Certificate III in meat processing.
Required Experience: At least two (2) years of skilled work experience in meat processing.
Demonstrated creativity and resourcefulness in meat processing tasks.
Excellent communication skills for effective team and management coordination.
Proven honesty, reliability, and responsibility, particularly in adhering to health and safety standards.
