Lifeguard Shift Supervisor

About the Role:

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the team by ensuring lifeguard shifts run smoothly, supervision levels are maintained, and safety standards are consistently upheld.

- Provide feedback to lifeguards, offering constructive guidance to help them improve and grow in their roles while maintaining a focus on honest and respectful communication.

- Coordinate breaks and rotations by managing lifeguard schedules efficiently and ensuring fairness in shift arrangements.

- Mentor new lifeguards by supporting and guiding them with patience and respect as they settle into their roles and develop their skills.

- Engage with the public by assisting visitors with inquiries and ensuring they have a safe and enjoyable experience.

- Maintain facility standards by ensuring the pool and surrounding areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained in line with our commitment to quality and safety.

- Lead in emergencies by acting as Deputy Chief Warden, providing clear, calm, and effective leadership while upholding the highest standards of responsibility and integrity during critical situations.

- Prioritise the safety of guests and staff, maintaining the highest safety standards with attention to detail.

- Deliver excellent service with passion, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for all visitors.

- Leverage valuable lifeguarding experience and commit to ongoing skill development through regular practice and professional growth.

You will be required to have:

- Current Pool Lifeguard qualification

- Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma qualifications

- Previous experience in a Lifeguard position

- Great leadership qualities – Approachable, positive attitude and the ability to lead by example

- Ability to handle difficult situations including emergencies.

- Strong communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills

- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, mornings, evenings, school and public holidays
