Responsibilities

- As a member of the Catering team, prepare meals for residents and manage an established team of catering assistants.

- Oversee the effective meal service to aged care residents, and ensure best practice service in kitchen cleanliness, documentation and food preparation.

- Prepare fresh and nutritious meals for residents in line with dietary needs.

- Manage all resources within the kitchen, including equipment and food supplies, within the approved budget.

- Maintain a hygienically clean kitchen that is fully compliant with the Aged Care quality standards.

Qualifications

- A kind heart and genuine passion for providing high quality care to the elderly

- Comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people

- A reliable team player

- Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery)

- Basic Food Safety Practices Certificate

- Good understanding of food safety practices, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene

- Understanding of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) preferred

- Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision

- Ability to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and their families

- NDIS and Police check clearance or willingness to obtain
