The Role
Russell Taylor is working exclusively with a Diagnostics/Life Sciences company & looking for an Assay Development Scientist who will work in the Technical Services team at their new state of the art site in Deeside.
Reports to: Head of Technical Services
- Conducting PCR assay development test work on a regular basis - also training staff on such activities as / when required
- Together with their Line Manager and Head of Technical Services, responsible for the advancement of all development and manufacturing according to defined service levels including turnaround times, project deadlines, productivity levels, quality levels and cost per sample
- Understanding and operation of instruments across site
- Playing an active role within the laboratory, completing projects where required and assisting in the scheduling and co-ordination of project work
- Liaising with customers frequently and as needed to ensure customer satisfaction and confidence; working closely with the Customer Engagement Manager, they will form and maintain strategic relationships with key customers and technology partners
- To participate in internal and external meetings, visits, and audits as and when appropriate and communicate any information back to the appropriate personnel
- When ready, ensure work is transferred into routine manufacture as smoothly as possible with the correct documentation and training
- Deliver the expectation of the customer whilst also balancing the interests of the Company
- Liaising with QA and commercial team to address any complaints, requests, or suggestions from service users
- Generation, design, and review of any required new documentation
Qualifications & Experience
- Will hold a Degree in a related field, or an MSc /PhD would be preferred with industrial experience
- Essential experience in PCR assay development
- ISO13485 experience desirable, working in regulated industry essential
- Lyophilisation / assay stabilisation desirable
