The Opportunity
Spriggy has experienced rapid growth over the last 10 years and we’re now looking for a talented .Net Tech Lead to join our team. Spriggy Tech Leads are experts in many technologies but all have common traits: A drive to deliver projects, a team first attitude and excellent communication.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading the backend engineering team, defining technical strategies, and ensuring best practices in software development. You will guide the team through complex architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and drive high-quality code delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead the backend team in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and secure APIs and microservices.
- Architect and optimize backend systems to handle high traffic and ensure best practices in C# development, including code quality, testing, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with frontend teams to build seamless experiences for users.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and foster a culture of continuous learning.
- Work closely with the Head of Engineering and stakeholders to align technical initiatives with business goals.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks and bottlenecks.
- Guiding team members in adopting AI tools and best practices
Experience & Qualifications
- 7+ years of backend engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior technical role.
- Expertise in C# .Net development.
- Strong experience with database design and development (SQL server, PostgreSQL, Entity Framework, Dapper).
- Hands-on experience in designing and maintaining RESTful APIs.
- Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven technical decisions.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a track record of mentoring engineers.
- Experience with event-driven architectures, message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
- Knowledge of security best practices for backend systems.
- Ability to evaluate and recommend AI solutions that add business value
