An exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design / Product Development Engineer to join the Bale defence Team.
Ideally suited to someone who has the underpinning knowledge and understanding of the full product lifecycle from inception, through design, development, verification, validation production and through life support. You will have demonstrable experience in the application of your expertise to solve challenging problems in innovative ways whilst applying the right level of due diligence to evidence the suitability of your designs and support certification of the design to domestic and international standards and/or customer requirements.

The ideal candidate will:

• Support the Engineering Manager in the development of complex sub-system design and lead component level design from concept through to production.

• Be unincumbered by the constraints of their existing knowledge or core strengths but instead takes personal responsibility for their continuing professional development to tackle new challenges with a positive and constructive mindset.

• Conduct component/sub-system/system level analysis to ensure suitable input into project plans, options development, DFM, DFMEA, safety and V&V activities.

• Hold an Engineering degree (Mechanical, Mechatronics or similar);

• Be a Professionally Registered Engineer or demonstrable equivalence

• Utilise Inventor to develop CAD models for design and production.

• Develop detailed supporting engineering documents to support the design and qualifications evidence.

• Have a detailed and demonstrable working knowledge of configuration management.

• Be experience working in highly regulated industry such as maritime, aerospace, medical, nuclear or rail.

• Utilise Stress Analysis to verify designs

• Exhibit strong interpersonal communication, consultation and negotiation skills;

• Present at our Port Macquarie facility Mon-Fri

• Ideally be eligibility for an Australian Government Security Clearance (Not Essential).

• Satisfy pre-employment screening (Applicants MUST have the right to live and work in Australia); and

• Have the ability travel internationally and interstate when and if required.
