Desired Skills and Experience

What you’ll need:

- A good driving history, with the capacity to learn to safely and reliably drive a heavy passenger vehicle.

- Complete a National Police Check from Tasmania Police.

- Hold (or can obtain) a working with vulnerable people (WWVP) card.

- Have held a current, full Australian Driver’s Licence for at least 2 years.

- Have full working rights in Australia.

- Pass a pre‑employment physical assessment, including a Drug and Alcohol test.

- Obtain a Public Passenger Vehicle (PPV) licence.

Training

You will commence your employment at Metro as a casual employee, working full time for the duration of your 6‑week training program. This allows for flexibility in your training schedule.

Don’t have a heavy vehicle licence yet? No worries.. You’ll start your career at Metro with 6 weeks of paid, extensive training to get your medium rigid Metro licence.
