SMHS delivers quality, safe and effective hospital and health services within a catchment area stretching more than 3300 square kilometres across the southern half of Perth. Fremantle Mental Health Service is recruiting to several P1 Occupational Therapy positions across our service. This is a recruitment pool for permanent full time, permanent part time, fixed term full time, fixed term part time and casual appointments with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency, for both current and future positions. The following positions are currently available: Fremantle Mental Health Service offers newly graduated Occupational Therapists the opportunity to join our team in providing compassionate, responsive, and contemporary care to clients. As part of our commitment to developing our future mental health workforce, we offer a structured and supported program that allows graduates to consolidate and enhance their learning of specialist skills relevant to contemporary mental health practice. The program consists of: - A 1‑year inpatient rotation with the option for a 2nd year rotation in community - Protected learning time and graded workload - Competency based learning - Regular teaching, mentoring and supervision with a Senior Occupational Therapist Ward4.3/Wardong - Older Adult Inpatient This is a part-time position. As part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team you will provide occupational therapy services to clients in the clinical area of older adult mental health. You will facilitate recovery‑oriented and trauma‑informed care and deliver a range of therapeutic interventions to support client’s mental and physical wellbeing. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Fremantle Mental Health Service and the wider South Metropolitan Mental Health Service have many occupational therapy positions across Youth, Adult, Eating Disorders and Older Adult mental health. Appointments may be made from this pool until 29/05/2026.
