
Component Technician 1

Reporting into the Workshop Supervisor, the Component Technician position will join the Large Engines team on a full-time permanent basis at our Guildford service building. This role will be working alongside our highly qualified tradespeople rebuilding engine components. Your role is to perform basic mechanical tasks such as dismantling and assembling engine components under the guidance of experienced technicians. The Large Engines team provides servicing capabilities for heavy machinery in the construction, mining and agricultural sector, performing engine rebuilds, component overhauls and specialised services like marine engine maintenance through the Component Rebuild Centre based in Guildford.
Roster: Mon - Fri – 10.5 hrs each day (inclusive of 30 mins unpaid break); 2 weeks of day shift, 2 weeks night shift.
Responsibilities
- Assembly and disassembly of CAT components
- Carrying out basic mechanical repairs as guided by experienced technicians
- Conduct basic checks and inspections on components
- Operate forklift as needed with a valid high risk work licence
- Maintain and operate a safe work environment
- Assist qualified Technicians with tooling and parts preparation
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience of Trade Assistant work within a mechanical setting is essential
- Forklift License is essential with Dogging highly desired or be willing to obtain these qualifications
- Good attitude with a strong work ethic
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience with safety and risk assessment tools such as Job Safety Analysis and Take 5's
