Position

Position: Consultant – Physician – Geriatrics

Agency: South Metropolitan Health Service

Location: Rockingham

Position Type: Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Part Time, Sessional and Casual appointments (with potential extensions and/or permanency)

Key Responsibilities

- Leadership & Collaboration: Work closely with the Head of Department and fellow Consultants to meet national, state, and SMHS performance standards and targets.
- Patient Safety & Quality Care: Champion patient safety and ensure the highest quality of care.
- Education & Training: Provide orientation, training, supervision, and education for doctors in training, health service medical practitioners, and other health workers.
- Clinical Practice: Operate within the scope of clinical practice as defined by the SMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee.

Eligibility: To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).

- Sessional (4 hours = a session) contracts only and will not be part-time to allow visa sponsorship.
