About the role
We’re seeking a new Engineering Support Manager Distribution role. Operating within Jemena’s Asset Management System, this role provides critical engineering support to ensure the safety, reliability, and long-term value of our gas assets. Key responsibilities include developing asset class strategies and plans, delivering operational engineering support, investigating performance non-conformances, and driving asset integrity and technology initiatives. Success in this role requires strong cross-disciplinary collaboration to enable cost-effective operations, maintenance, and asset renewal. Key Responsibilities
- Leading and supportinga high-performing team by clearly defining roles, fostering growth, recognising achievements, and guiding through change to enhance engagement and capability
- Providing expert engineering adviceto support capital program delivery, including externally initiated projects, ensuring solutions are high quality, cost-effective, and aligned with business needs.
- Delivering operational engineering supportthrough timely guidance, field manuals, incident investigations, and safety reviews to optimise asset performance and mitigate risks.
- Developing and implementingasset class strategies and lifecycle plans that align with service delivery, performance, and commercial objectives.
- Monitoring and analysingasset performance to identify risks, opportunities, and improvements, while supporting the development of integrity management plans and safety systems.
- Driving innovation and technology developmentby identifying trends, leading research, and creating roadmaps that support Jemena’s strategic objectives.
- Collaborating across disciplinesto ensure sustained, cost-effective operations, maintenance, and renewal of physical infrastructure and equipment.
About You
You are a seasoned engineering leader with deep experience in safety-critical industries and the Australian energy sector. You bring strategic thinking, regulatory credibility, and a collaborative mindset to complex challenges. With a passion for innovation and performance, you lead with integrity, technical excellence, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Attributes
- Demonstratingextensive experience in energy utilities and contractor markets across Australia
- Leading engineering management with a focus on policy, standards, compliance, and risk
- Holding tertiary engineering qualifications and professional certification (CPEng or RPEng)
- Navigating regulatory frameworks and energy policy with confidence and insight
- Translating complex technical and risk issues into clear, commercially sound decisions
