About the role

Dentons Australia has a fantastic opportunity in our Sydney office for someone looking to start or build upon their Paralegal career in our growing Recovery and Restructuring practice on a full‑time permanent basis.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will act on behalf of a number of Australia's major banks and non‑bank lenders on secured and unsecured recovery matters. The work is fast‑paced and you will manage a portfolio of files and collaborate with lawyers emphasizing compliance and quality assurance.

- File management from start to finish

- Preparing and issuing legal documents, including statutory notices and court documents

- First point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communications via a specialised online web‑based portal

- Outbound and inbound calls with defaulting customers, liaising directly with customers in relation to sensitive financial matters to reach suitable arrangements

- Working with lawyers to progress matters through courts

What you'll need to succeed

You will be extremely well organised, have superior drafting skills and close attention to detail. You will handle a large workload and keep it up to date, work under pressure, deal with sensitive matters and maintain a professional phone manner.

Prior law firm experience is not a pre‑requisite, although applicants with secured or unsecured recoveries experience will be favourably considered. Law students should only apply if they have 2 years (or more) left on their degree.
