We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join us on a 15 month parental leave contract. This role will assist the team in delivering optimum outcomes in compliance, financial reporting, and tax reporting. This position is to start with us in January 2026

Your key responsibilities

- Record expenses and raise billing for Platform entities
- Complete month-end processes accurately and on schedule
- Prepare the Platform’s annual financial report and income tax calculations
- Lodge Workers Compensation declarations and ensure correct calculation of Payroll Tax and Fringe Benefits Tax
- Post accounting journals and accrue expenses per agreements
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure timely and accurate billing of all fees
- Calculate AFSL requirements to maintain compliance
- Generate month-end reports
- Compile data for monthly and quarterly activity statements (BAS and IAS) for Group entities
- Assist with Fringe Benefits Tax reporting
- Prepare and report Payroll Tax liability and workers compensation across three states
- Support preparation of annual streamlined financial reports for the Group and external audit
- Prepare annual financial reports for subsidiary companies

What you bring

- Commerce or Business Degree majoring in Accounting
- Working towards a professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA)
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience within the property sector (desirable, not essential)
- Proactive approach with a keen desire to learn and implement best practice
- Strong attention to detail and lateral thinking
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Hands-on approach and strong teamwork within a matrixed finance group
- Sound negotiation and influencing skills at all levels
- Good knowledge of reporting systems (Voyager desirable but not essential)
- Strong understanding of Accounting Standards and their application
- Knowledge of company tax, FBT, and payroll tax
