Car to Bus: Licence Upgrade Program – Become a Kinetic Bus Driver

We’re searching for new drivers to be the face of Kinetic. Help us take people where they need to go and join Australasia’s largest and fastest-growing bus operator.

Whether you're changing careers or just looking for something more rewarding, our Car to Bus Licence Upgrade Program is your opportunity to join a supportive team and start a career in public transport – no bus driving experience required.

We’ll pay you while we train you to upgrade your car licence to a Medium Rigid (MR) licence, followed by a five-week, hands-on induction program. This includes a mix of classroom and on-road training. You’ll also receive ongoing support over the next 12 months to gain a nationally recognised qualification.

All you need to bring is your smile, energy, passion, and commitment to creating awesome experiences for our customers, communities, and teammates.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for highly motivated individuals of all genders and backgrounds who enjoy working with people and are passionate about delivering great service.

- Multiple Positions Available
- Great pay rates from $35.04 (base) per hour
- Based in Mackay

Our drivers are fully trained to provide exceptional customer service and ensure safe and reliable journeys. You'll drive a range of services, including general routes, charters and special events, and play a vital role in ticket sales, customer interaction, and community connection.

The wheels of change are in motion – are you ready to jump on board?

What we’re looking for:

We’re after people who bring a customer-first attitude and who tick a few important boxes:

- Excellent customer service skills and enjoy working with the public
- Must hold an open 'C' Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
- Willingness to obtain a Queensland Driving Authorisation
- Willingness to undertake a pre-employment physical and medical history check
- Australian work rights
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or in a team

Why Kinetic?

No matter where you call home, you’ll find a welcoming team and a modern depot nearby.

We’re investing in an electric fleet that’s driving us towards net zero, and we’re leading the way with clean, green, accessible, and inclusive transport solutions.

At Kinetic, we’re more than just a transport company. We’re about connecting communities, building careers, and making a positive impact. We celebrate diversity, value authenticity, and support each other to be extraordinary every day.

Count on Kinetic for a brighter future.
