About the facility
Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.
The McKellar Centre offers a range of professional aged care services, as well as rehabilitation both as an inpatient and community rehabilitation clinics, community health and palliative care services. It is situated on a vibrant community asset with parkland surrounds and incorporates state-of-the-art equipment.
About the role
As the Clinical Nurse Consultant, Palliative Care you will provide advanced and senior palliative care clinical practice to people utilising acute-based services. The target patient group is people who have complex care needs because of experiencing a life limiting illness, with little or no prospect of cure, and for whom the primary treatment goal is quality of life. As the CNC you will work within an interdisciplinary team context, and in all acute settings. You will enhance the team’s capacity to work in shared care situations while also providing clinical leadership, education and support to palliative care colleagues, and generalist and/or other specialty staff.
