Peer and Client Services – Hunter Team (Character Count 47%)

Role Overview

Support our care coordinators/counsellors in delivering one‑on‑one and group interventions for LGBTQ+ people.

Responsibilities

- Line supervision and support to the funded counselling and care coordination team.
- Lead service quality and performance functions: monitor KPIs, report, facilitate meetings, support staff development.
- Manage a small caseload using a short‑term, solution‑focused counselling approach.
- Plan, schedule, deliver and evaluate counselling and care coordination services.
- Provide de‑briefing and line supervision to care coordinators/counsellors.
- Case conference high‑risk clients with Peer Work Team Leaders.
- Attend team and unit meetings, contributing to quality improvement.
- Ensure smooth referral and intake processes.
- Support best‑practice strategies for clients living with or impacted by HIV.
- Record high‑quality data in the electronic client record database.
- Build networks with primary health care and external providers.
- Deliver short‑term solutions for caseload of 6‑10 PLHIV and people of diverse sexuality and gender.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional standards.

Hours: Full time, 70 hours per fortnight on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract with possibility of extension.

First Nations Community Health Promotion Intern (Part‑time, 6‑month)

Role Overview

Support the First Nations Health Project with culturally responsive programs and services for Aboriginal communities.

Responsibilities

- Assist with digital communications, health promotion outreach and community events.
- Contribute to key events such as the First Nations float at the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras.

Care Coordinator/Counsellor – Sexual, Domestic & Family Violence Services (Hunter) – Part‑time, 42 hrs fortnightly

Role Overview

Provide trauma‑informed counselling and care coordination to LGBTQ+ people experiencing sexual, domestic and family violence.

Responsibilities

- Deliver counselling and care coordination services.
- Support clients through safety planning and case management.
- Build collaborative relationships and advocate for inclusive responses.

Support the First Nations Health Programs team in developing and delivering health promotion programs for LGBTQ+ SB Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.

Responsibilities

- Assist in content development for technology‑facilitated abuse workshops.

- Support project work within the First Nations Health Program team.
