This is a permanent part-time (0.2FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2026

Queens Park Primary School (PS) is an Independent Public School with a rich history of providing quality public schooling since 1905. For over 110 years we have educated, inspired and nurtured. Our wonderful teachers and support staff are all dedicated to ensuring your child develops the understanding, skills and attitudes relevant to their individual needs.

The Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer assists teachers in delivering planned education programs and encouraging a supportive and inclusive learning environment and assists students to access the educational program and have an increased understanding of the multicultural nature of the learning environment. The successful applicant would act as a liaison between the community and school to develop an educational program relevant to both educational and cultural needs and supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, particularly those at risk, through mentoring and pastoral care to encourage participation and achievement at school.

There is a possibility the FTE for this position may increase in the future.

Eligibility

To work with us, you must:

- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.

- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.

- Demonstrated ability to contribute to a school-level team and to provide multi-cultural direction in the development of the educational program, development of language resources, and evaluation of education and behaviour management programs.

- Demonstrated ability to effectively assist teachers in implementing educational and behaviour management programs.

- Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of effective education programs to students.

- Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and well-being of students.
